An environmentally-friendly rigid inflatable boat that will play a vital role in Sea World's internationally-renowned research and rescue efforts was launched on Queensland's Gold Coast. Honda Marine and Sea World joined forces to launch Sea World 2, a 6.5m Swift rigid inflatable boat powered by two Honda BF150 four-stroke outboards. Honda Marine Manager Tim Davies said the contribution to Sea World's research and rescue program was not only part of a long-standing corporate partnership with Sea World, but an extension of Honda's own commitment to protecting the environment. “The four-stroke engines which power Sea World 2 have been selected due to their extremely low emissions a very important requirement for the work Sea World undertakes. Honda is extremely proud to be part of their ongoing efforts to protect our marine environment and care for the creatures living in it,” said Davies. Sea World's Marine Sciences Manager Trevor Long said, Sea World is committed to working with partners supporting the protection of our marine environment and Honda Marine has proved a strong ally for many tears. The new Sea World 2 will play a huge role in our ongoing marine research and rescue efforts. Following the launch the new vessel was put through its paves on the Southport Broadwater. |
